Carl Fitzsimons, Managing Director & Founder of 4BOX

Carl has repeatedly recruited & developed many award-winning teams in multiple sectors, industries & countries, from his early career in the public sector through to leading Transformation & Capability in some of the worlds most trusted corporate businesses & brands : John West Foods, BAE Systems Plc, Pepsico (Walkers) Inc, PZ Cussons (Imperial Leather) & Ecolab Inc. Carl is currently a Honorary Teaching Fellow/‘Leader in Residence’ for Lancaster University, invited to act as the University ‘Industry Champion for HR’ for undergraduate and MBA courses, supporting Lecturers and Students alike.

Carl’s real passion lies in helping leaders develop their own winning Corporate Character – whether this is creating compelling Vision, Mission, Values & Beliefs to power extraordinary levels of engagement & performance or simply recruiting & fitting the right leadership DNA to unlock an enterprise’s potential.

In his spare time Carl balances his family time, with interests including Karate (Carl is a Black Belt in Shotokan), playing hockey for his hometown, running, reading & writing articles on Leadership & personal growth.


Edwin, Senior Associate Consultant

Edwin has over 40 years of experience working for BAE Systems in the aviation industry, as an Engineer, Training & Development Manager and Quality Leader.

He was the Learning and Development subject matter expert within the International Aerospace Quality Group (IAQG) for several years and was the World Team Leader in the development of the globally recognized standard for competence management in the aviation industry.

NASA, amongst other leading organizations in global aviation & Defense industries for many years have used Edwin’s work as industry quality benchmark.

In recent years Edwin has continued to share his exceptional Learning & Quality expertise in the construction, food and telecoms industry.

Outside of work, Edwin is an artist of some repute and has had his work exhibited. When time allows, he is invited by some of the world’s largest Cruise liners to deliver enrichment lectures and this passion for teaching also helps him raise much-needed funds for a local Hospice and several other charities.


Rob, Senior Associate Consultant

Rob has over 20 years in learning and development experience and takes pride in developing great Leaders.

A former Managing Director of a highly successful HR Consultancy Rob has worked with a range of iconic brands and high growth clients to develop their leadership capability, including Warburtons, JCB, Gymshark, DPD,  Greencore, JLT, Bentley Motors. Nichols Foods (Vimto). Notably, in his time working with Nichols, Rob’s leadership delivery was recognized with a National Business Award for outstanding People Development.

In addition to Leadership Development, Rob’s passion lies in Performance Management and he has an MSc in Performance Management from Leicester University.

In keeping with the core principles of 4BOX methodology, whether with groups or in his impactful 121 coachings, Rob has an excellent reputation for keeping things simple and providing highly practical support for the Leaders he supports, enabling them to seamlessly transfer their learning back into their role.


Suzanne, Senior Associate Consultant

Suzanne is passionate about developing businesses and has a wealth of experience, having owned and led one of the UK’s top Leadership and Management Consultancies for 29 years before selling it to a Private Equity business in 2021. With particular expertise in manufacturing and sales, she has worked across many sectors and with many blue chip organisations, including Warburtons, Kerry Foods, Bentley, JCB, British Aerospace and the Regatta Group.  Suzanne loves to support leaders who have ambitious plans and the desire to inspire and motivate their team to drive performance in order to achieve those plans. She has a wonderful way of generating belief and capability in a leader or manager and helps people to think innovatively about routes to success.  Suzanne is an NLP Master Practitioner and Trainer. She has worked with Sir John Adair (on Action Centred Leadership) and Colin Rose, where she was instrumental in introducing Accelerated Learning to the mainstream training world. She was honoured by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II for services to Leadership in Britain. in her spare time you will find her walking a boisterous border collie called Nellie or working on one of other passions, interior design.


Nina, Senior Associate Consultant

Nina’s has been a successful Coach and business programme change consultant for over 18 years. Her energising mission is to enable business development, sustainable growth and change through programme executive business coaching. Nina’s successful past client programmes include PZ Cussons (where she first worked with Carl), Boots Alliance, Unilever Personal Care, John West, Moog Inc, Bibby Distribution, RBS, Access Point, Seal Films and Sky TV (where Nina facilitated vision and strategy sessions in UK and New Zealand). Simon, Senior Associate Consultant

Simon started his corporate career as a senior consultant at SHL working with some of the largest companies in the world.

In 2007 Simon established his own consulting firm and for the past 11 years has been designing and delivering impactful interventions to such companies as Sellafield,, Ecolab, DuPont, Channel 4.

Simon’s real passion is recruitment and the use of objective assessment methodologies.  He firmly believes in the practical application of assessment across all roles can add real bottom line value to any organisation.

John, Senior Associate Consultant

Prior to working as a consultant John worked in HR and change management roles with Unilever and Laporte Industries, gaining first-hand experience in leading business improvement initiatives. He has over twenty years consultancy experience with Wickland Westcott, Cap Gemini and running his own consultant business. Johns clients include world renowned profit (branded) and not for profit organisations: Colgate Palmolive, World Wildlife Fund (WWF) Damart, Hitachi, John West, Levi Strauss, Parker Hannifin, PZ Cussons, Wembley Stadium, Bridgestone and Burger King.

John is highly experienced in assessing and coaching though management levels and at Board level to help people achieve their potential, improve their performance, and renew their commitment. John is naturally calm, considered and highly pragmatic and takes a “whole person” approach to coaching. John actively avoids jargon and the esoteric. He is a Corporate Member of the Chartered Institute of People Development, author of the critically acclaimed book “Timeless Management” and in his spare time still competes internationally in Athletics (Track & Field)


Martin, Senior Associate Consultant

Following a background in Manufacturing and R&D, Martin Crump has spent over twenty years as a training and development professional working at a strategic level with leaders within organizations

He has coached and trained people across a wide variety of sectors including BAE Systems, Babcock Marine, B&Q, Imerys Minerals, John West, The NHS and Local Government Heads of service.

Martin has also worked closely with a large number of high growth SMEs and organizations in the Charity sector.

Martin has taught Management Development at Manchester Metropolitan University and is an NLP Master Practitioner and Certified NLP Master Trainer. Recently, he co-authored ‘’How to Build an Ark’ A guide to project leadership in the 21st century.’ And ‘Evolve or Die. The ultimate self-help book.’

Steve Beck

Steve, Senior Associate Consultant

Steve has over 25 years of senior HR experience in positions as Group HR Director, HR Director and Head of HR in such businesses as Kerry Foods, Dunbia, and Nichols plc.  Since 2016, Steve has been consulting, working with clients nationally and internationally leading project management, acquisitions, and change programmes.

In his career, Steve has been a member of every Executive team in all the businesses he has worked for. Leading significant projects across multi-disciplined and multi-site operations including areas such as recruitment, talent, ethical trade, strategy development and deployment and business transformation, labour optimization, change management and HR excellence in continuous improvement and lean environments. He combines an excellent strategic grasp on how HR can contribute effectively to the achievement of business goals with a very practical approach to turning good intentions into tangible reality. Described by his peers as a “real people” person, Steve has expertise in building relationships with ease and quickly getting to grips with issues and solutions in a variety of contexts. He brings challenge and support to enable change and his style and application exemplify the essence of the 4BOX methodology.

Outside of work, Steve has been a guitarist with his successful band, formed in 2001 and is a keen golfer and photographer.


Tracy, Senior Associate Consultant

Programme role: Executive Coach Specialism: Career and Executive coaching
A Career and Executive Coach for over 10 years, Tracy has worked with hundreds of individuals typically at a senior level in both the private and public sectors. She has a friendly and informal style; however, she is not afraid to challenge or give honest feedback. Her training is in psychology-based coaching having a Post Graduate Certificate in Executive Coaching and Team Coaching.  Executive Coaching – Tracy’s aim is to achieve long-lasting behavioural change brought about by an increase in self-awareness and a clear set of actions. Her focus is always on the individual, creating an environment of trust and psychological safety allowing them to be honest with her and, more importantly, with themselves. a BSc (Hons) Psychology and an MSc in Management Development.
